When playing a show which was recorded in Voice Track, you would like the Automation switch On so that every track definitely segues into the next and the show doesn't stop midway through. However, you probably don't want the Log Scheduler on. A presenter may fall slightly short of the tolerance of a Fixed Time Marker, or of the top of the first hour during a two-hour show: in this case, they do not want a random song added to the Playout Log, the system should instead 'get ahead of itself' until there's nothing left in the log for the next (for example) hour, and only at that point should it start to select songs from the Playout Policy. That way, the Voice Tracked show plays out exactly as intended, and avoids issues where a voice track is introducing the wrong song because something else was unexpectedly added into an accidental gap. There's also a risk that not all gaps would be known at the time of recording, given the variable duration of e.g. ad blocks, etc.
